The National Center for Women in Information Technology is giving an award to high schoolers who excel in Computing and Aspirations with Computing. This year the award will focus on six major metro areas: Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, and New York City.

Search Engine Optimization Real life example, using wordtracker

Today I started using a new tool. It’s called wordtracker. Interesting enough it costs a little bit but man, it has helped me “see” what people are searching on the internet, easily and effectively. No i’m not writing an ad for them, but take for example.. we named one of our classes Digital Photography Hot Shots… After many customer’s asking – do you have a beginner’s class, i was like duh that’s our class by rick sammon. Then, after many surveys, customer interactions, I realized something’s not right with the titleing of some of our classes… Then i got into word tracker.. People don’t get creative when they are searching for information… they use basic terms like “learn photography” or Photography lessons or Take better photographs… we’re talking like 500 plus searches a day… then i key worded my  class titles and um… well.. yeah… some of them didn’t even get 1 or 2 searches. Then.. I decided well let’s take a look at the topics of the classes, what do people search for that isn’t completely flooded with pay per click ads and universities or worse our competition all over them… with word tracker i was able to anaylze the titles and now we’re doing what’s called “keyword packing” and tagging our pages better than ever! So.. I think my next class for internet marketing is going to be.. just what I  bloggged about today… using Key word indexes and search engine key word tools to make more money on the internet!

Oh.. an since i’ve retitled some of the classes our sales are up 10%…. now we just have to work on our forums… by being on yahoo answers i’m getting floods of emails about people wanting to see more from us, and how they love our classes…

keywords, search engine optimization, organic searches, hot searches… All in the name of Internet Marketing

That’s right… After days of research and further development of xTrain, we are now pleased to announce that our online marketing course is now titled: Internet marketing…. Has a certain ring to it, doesn’t it?

Well it should! That’s the hottest keywords people use when looking up “how to market their website/service online” training. So, with all the research, google tests, and pay per click campaigns to test marketing of such course, we changed it.

So today’s Tip of the Day… Hello, Search Engine Optimization is a GOD Send! You just have to think outside of the box, and when you do get your keywords right, you’ll know.. Sales will roll in with minimal effort, customers will start refering your site to their friends, family and wallets. (Yes! there is a fine marketing job in keywords and optimization!)     Mac Libraries Explanation… A guide that’s actually handy!

    Today I decided to do a random, kill all my preferences in my library. I don’t recommend this. But since I’ve got some applications misbehaving its a necessary evil, right? Well… no not really.. had I used this handy guide before emptying my trash… MacRumors has some pretty cool tools for those of us Mac users who aren’t… the Techy type, but dangerous enough to break things quickly ;)

    Make Quick Christmas Cards!

    Wow. Today I was in a pinch to make a Christmas card for my family. I thought well I can sit and play in Illustrator all day or photoshop something with my daughter and call it even.

    Then I realized, why do that when istockphoto.com has already created the card for me! All I had to do was pick (wich by the way was not easy there are sooo many awesome backgrounds) a background and bam… a few tweaks in InDesign, I was done. It took me 20 minutes to finish the typography, copy writing and then the printing… of 1 card.

    Now, all I need is my digital printing company to hurry up! I want to send my cards tomorrow… It’s less than a week till Christmas!

    InDesign Online Video Training: It’s not as easy as it Looks!

    Hi Guys!

    We just wrapped up an awesome shoot! And I have to brag, it was me! I’m working on my InDesign Classes @ xTrain – between our bigger shoots and I’m so proud of the video. It was not the easiest day of work I’ve ever had – but man – it sure looks good!
    Our Production team (7 people) are absolutely fabulous!

    I’ll have to say that Shellie Halls Tips on her VideoCasting Article @ Creative Pro has awesome tips on how to deliver the cast…(Specifically 4A & 4B)

    Being on the Big Screen (ahem, our studio) isn’t quite the one man show, but a well prepared session has all the same elements… including: PRACTICE!!!!!!!!!!!
